Wearable Art
Dorry Hsu has a background in photography and conceptual art, and this is immediately obvious hen looking at her jewellery collection TAO. The unusual shapes of the metal wire add a defining edge to the body, looking more like they have casually been drawn around the person who is wearing them. Though fragile and minimal, her pieces definitely add a statement. When they are not being worn, the geometric lines and irregular contours have an eery, mysterious power; bridging the gap between sculptural art and wearable jewels.
