Gratuitous Type is a magazine for the typographic buff. A celebration of all things typography, carefully designed, edited and published by Elana Schenkler, a graphic designer and art director hailing from Brooklyn.
Each number is filled to the brim with gorgeous, surprising details: a die-cut cover, silkscreened inserts, colourful images, …
But the inspiration also comes from a non-visual side, as each publication consists of interviews with and pieces about expert designers in the field.
