Better half
Fragmentation is the experience of a certain void - it’s the feeling you’re missing something.
According to Maud Hoeijmakers, a lonely sock is the ultimate metaphor for fragmentation.
Socks always come in pairs, and without their counterpart we see a sock as something abstract, pointless and incomplete. A singular sock carries a certain void and uniqueness - like a fragment. FRAGMENTS is an hommage to that lonely sock that is always lingering in the washing bin. It’s a collection of single socks that are all different but still fit together.
By creating a pair you will reach a feeling of coherence and incoherence at the same time.
