Architectonic

Phillip Finder is an American artist whose primary medium is clay. But in addition to the clay work, he often adds other media such as wood, steel and pigmented concrete. His work explores interactions occuring between individual elements and materials in a composition.
This series, Architectonic,  consists of geometric combinations of different raw materials. Because of the serene compositions the attention of the viewer is directed to the elegance of the different structures. For example rough, dark grey concrete is combined with a piece of smooth yet cracked oak wood and separated by a fine brass lining.
