Common land

The Brussels house of art MAAC exhibits 'Common land' by Belgian photographer Laetitia Bica, showing her view on freedom.

Common land showcases the encounters and placse where plastic artist Laetitia Bica has lived with a main role played by Villa Noailles de Hyères.
Bica covers her models, manipulates nature, composes materials and plays with the real and symbolic in order to exclude all consensus and encourage debate.
She makes portraits and landscapes come together and therefore erases the limits of the genre.

To top it all off, the photographer uses the ancient technique of bichromated gum in combination with the modernity of printing on glass.
The daylight on the one hand and the artificial night of a black light takes the visitor on an extraordinary journey.

From 19 April to 13 May,  MAAC Brussels.
