Work it out
As if jumping jacks and weightlifting weren't hard enough on their own, most fitness equipment doesn't look appealing either. Ali Safa A. designed a selection of 4 pieces, made from ash and marble. The pleasing, sustainable materials want to encourage the user to move more, heading for a gealthier lifestyle, while staying in touch with the environmental side as well.
These pieces a part of Analogue Ways, a project by Lund University aiming to bring traditional sustainable values to a modern context. By taking inspiration from the past and how things were done, made, grown they are encouraging their pupils to develop a closer relation with the ecological systems and local resources.
Where most fitness equipment has to be hidden as quickly as possible, these pieces can become part of your home. And maybe when you look at them more, they might even make you excersice more?
